The winner of our latest jackpot, a player of Surrey Heath Lottery, gave us an emotional reaction to the news of her win. The winner, who prefers not to be named had this to say about her £25,000 win:
I’m 76 and suffer with extreme anxiety and depression amongst other health issues. I am a widow and have really struggled this year with isolating and being on my own a lot. I’ve never won anything in my life, and this amount of money is just incredible. I really can’t believe it’s real, and am shaking writing this. After a horrible year to win this jackpot is unbelievable, and an amazing early Christmas present!
The winner joined the Surrey Heath Lottery to support Home Start Surrey Heath, a parenting charity that she used to volunteer for.
“I support Home-Start Surrey Heath as I used to be a volunteer with them for a short time, and appreciate the good work they do in the local community. I’ve been to a few of their fundraisers too, as I know they’re constantly striving to raise funds to carry out their work of supporting families in Surrey Heath.”
The winner took this opportunity to encourage others to sign-up to Surrey Heath Lottery in order to support local good causes:
“I would urge everyone to sign up to the Surrey Heath Lottery, as not only are you supporting a charity in the local community that means a lot to you, you’ve the chance of winning the jackpot like I have, which I honestly still can’t believe. Thank you too to Surrey Heath Borough Council for starting this lottery what a fantastic idea. Thank you.“
